christmas

Christmas was wonderful and special like always.

For my little sister Vera. I did an advent calendar.

Every day she would open one of the little paper bags to find a new ornament.

I hung up the brown bags on twine over the fireplace.
Final result of our Christmas tree and all the packages wrapped with brown paper.
A wonderful surprise from my mom! A vintage style bike!

Some of Alan's Christmas loot- Aviators, Asian spices, a Black Diamond head lamp, and The Book of Eli

Some of my loot! Homemade plum jelly, 30 Rock , It's Complicated, Pride and Prejudice, the latest Pearls Before Swine comic book, and a beautiful pendant of the Duluth bridge.

a merry little christmas

Christmas is such a wonderful but busy time.

We did a lot of our Christmas wrapping and decorating the day we got back from MN.

I decided to put on the movie Casablanca and tackle the tree with Alan first!

I then decided to wrap our packages this year in simple brown butcher paper you can purchase at Home Depot.

I then cut out patterns in some of the paper and used white paint to decorate the packages.

I took old postcards leftover from our wedding and painted the words "Merry Christmas".
I then hung them from clothespins and twine inbetween two sconces.

Hope that you take a moment to enjoy this season,
because we have to wait an entire year for it to come again.
