one year

Alan and I ran away for a little bit to celebrate our first year of marriage.

We left yesterday afternoon for Atlanta and returned tonight.

Even though it was a short trip it was perfect.
Nothing like a fluffy white hotel bed!
 Hotel keys, map, etc.

Oh we also went to IKEA!
It was my first time and I was hooked.
We ended up just buying some amazing fabric
(I'll post pictures of future projects using the fabric later)

red!

I actually did it.

Not as dramatic as I thought but it turned out pretty good!

Life as a redhead is kind of fun actually;)

day at the lake

Our friends Alex&Emma were kind enough to invite us over last Saturday to the lake.

I always love being around water- lakes, oceans, rivers, etc.

I am an adult now so naturally summers are not vacation time for me,
so this was a real treat.

Here are a few shots from the day.

homework

I'm in my first intro to graphic design glass and I wanted to share my first assignment:)

We had to create a logo/advertisement for made up companies.

The first was "The Geeky Bean Coffee House" and the second was for

"Forever September"- the business Alan and I are wanting to start up.

I'm so grateful to have a class I actually enjoy this semester!

Art Walk

Last night we were city folk.

We got in our car, dressed to the nines, and drove to the North Side.

We walked up and down 2nd.

After two hours we found a few pieces we liked...

I scanned these in this morning, and it still surprises me that we were so
enamored with the last three pieces.

I'm not usually a fan of pop art but we couldn't seem to walk away from his booth.

It's open from Noon-5 today as well, everyone should check it out.

It is events like this that make me grateful to live downtown.

changes

I believe every woman goes through seasons where change is needed.

I made a rule for myself that I would not dye my hair until I started to see grey...

I am actually thinking of tossing that rule to the side like I have my
"ear piecing rule" and "two piece swimsuits rule".

I want to do something daring and risky.

A color that makes me style my hair instead of flop out of bed every day.

September is such a beloved month, I view it as our January.

A time for new goals, ideas, and changes.

I'll be posting the changes made throughout this wonderful month.
