martha! martha! martha!

My friend La La and I are huge Martha Stewart followers
(The style part not the jail part)

Today is a Martha Stewart day because...

My living room in our new apartment is Chinchilla gray
and possibly painting our kitchen "Love-In-A-Mist"

For dinner I am thinking of cooking mussels in a butter/white wine/thyme sauce,
served with a baguette and a spring salad.

Our new apt. is on the first floor and in the back is a garden and picnic table.
Maybe for outdoor entertaining I'll string up a few various sized votives with candles.

I love herbs and this idea is simplistic and beautiful, it makes me want to repot my own.

How can you not love the variety of classic and fun ideas
that Martha and her team cranks out on a daily basis?

Lovely Pansies

I love pansies!

Alan will bring them home all the time, so that I can press them in a book.

Above there are two pansy inspired accessories, and then some edible pansy ideas.

Pansies in ice cubes or sugared onto cookies are beautiful yet edible.

i dream of disney

Today I want nothing more than to drop everything  and move to Disney World with Alan.

I more rational approach to ease this craving would be to
google everything disney related until I recieved my fill.

Here are a few things as a result from my search.

Coral earrings inspired by Disney (The Little Mermaid)
Artist rendering of a scene from Wall-E

Snow White Shirt by Disney Couture

Magic craving appeased.

All of the above can be found at the Disney Store

with love

One of the first things Alan and I bought when we got our apartment was and address stamp.

You can find some formal ones on Expressionery.

The one shown above can be found on Etsy.

I love it because it is modeled after the old pony express and it fits us perfectly.

And of course you must have cute stationery to send letters on!

Here are a few selections from Chronicle Books!

Even though technology is great, never understimate the power of a handwritten letter.

Joyfully yours,

Kaitlin Slattery

friday favorites

Fridays are the best and because today is so beautiful outdoors I will keep this post short.

I love my friend Lauren, and coming up with endless ideas for blogging and etsy products.

I love the Hoover library that is riddled with books, magazines, and movies to inspire!

And finally I love bubble tea from Mr. Chen's because it reminds me of China and they don't laugh at my attempt to speak chinese...which makes me feel good:)

an old favorite

A Little Princess (1995 version not the shirley temple)

This was probably my favorite movie growing up, and where I fell in love with India as well.

I went back and watched it recently but with a inspirational eye instead of just for "feel-good-movie" time.

I love the colors used for this 30's-40's New York boarding school.

Emerald green and some brass accents.

Or the opposite side of the world- India where she grew up

Exciting patterns in jewel tones that make you want to escape there.
I understand using color in decorating often time dates your rooms, but for this movie it is perfect!

When we do decide to have children down the road,
our little girl's room will probably look like the picture above.

Enjoy.

yes please

I rarely find things that I "really-want-and-might-HAVE-to-purchase" but above are a few treasures that have caught my eye.
TOMS premiered their new linen TOMS and of course the yellow are my favorite.
Every woman needs a signature perfume of some sort. Burberry orginial for women is heavenly, but as goes for any perfume please go by the less-is-more rule.
Finally, after much thought the last picture posted is that of my wedding band hopefully!

The marquise solitaire ring that I have would slide into
the middle of the two bands above and look stunning:)
